(January 2012) Princess Chloe is a 6-7 year old spayed female.  She is a fun-loving and outgoing lady!  Chloe can be very affectionate and loves attention when she wants it.  Although sometimes she likes to be left alone to contemplate her humans and her castle.  Chloe is a typical girl kitty and can be moody with other cats occasionally.  She gets along fantastic with some cats, but does not like some others at all. She has not been tested with dogs, and would most likely do best as the only pet in the home.

Princess Chloe needs a special family where she can live as the queen bee!  She would do best in a family with no kids, or with older children, as noisy little ones may scare her.  Chloe's foster family loves her very much, but she does not get along very well with their other cats, so she has been living in a large custom built cage when they can't supervise her with the other cats.  Due to her living arrangement she has become a bit overweight and could certainly benefit from a family who could provide a diet and exercise plan for her.  She loves to play! Laser toys and Feather-on-a-String toys are her favorites!!

Could you give our sweet Princess Chloe the new life she deserves?

UPDATE! 7/20/14 - from her foster mom -

Chloe is awesome.  We've moved her upstairs to my bedroom.  She is doing great!  She is not kept in a cage at all anymore.  It isn't necessary.  We took about 3 months and carefully integrated her with our cats and she has no problems with them now!  She initially would hiss at them and try to get away, but she never fought or started problems.

She is such a cuddler!  She sleeps up against my legs and purrs happily.  She loves to be held in my arms!  She is such an easy cat, she just goes with the flow and does her thing.  She is not demanding for attention and is perfectly content to just be near me.  She loves to be petted and is just generally sweet tempered.  SHE LOVES BELLY RUBS!

She ALWAYS uses her litterbox and scratching post.  We have no problems with her.  She tolerates the dogs and even likes our other kitties now.  She will lay on the bed snuggled up with them and will even groom them!

As long as you are patient with her, she will blossom when she is ready.  She does things on her own time, like a true princess.  She will definitely need an adjustment period for a new family, but she is worth the wait!!!  She would do best in a quiet home, and prefers to stay in one room.  She would make a perfect apartment kitty!

Update 10/19/16

Oh, Chloe, when will your family find you?

We have had sweet Chloe for so long.  She is such a sweet, sweet, sweet lady!  Chloe gets along with her foster kitty siblings with almost no issues.  Sometimes she can be a little cranky with them, but as long as she has somewhere to go hang out away from them, she does great.  She likes to groom her foster sister Aurora and usually sleeps curled up with her.  Chloe has lived with easy going dogs and has no problem as long as they respect her and do not chase her.

Chloe has some skin allergies to mold and fleas, but doesn't have issues with that as long as she is kept flea-free, and in a mold-free environment.

Chloe likes to be held, petted, and likes to snuggle in bed with her foster mom.  She is generally a very happy, sweet, loveable girl!

Can you give Chloe a forever home?  She is now a senior at 10 years old, and is more than deserving of a permanent home.  To adopt Chloe, please complete an adoption application and pre-adoption questionnaire.

She is spayed, vaccinated, negative for FIV/FeLV and has been regularly treated with flea and worm preventives.  Her adoption fee is $50.

About Kitty Colony - Jenkintown

About Our Rescue Group...

We seek to rescue the abandoned, the unwanted, the unloved - the cats that need us.

- To care for and provide a loving, cage free home for cats awaiting adoption.

- To reduce euthanasia in overcrowded shelters by taking in cats that need more TLC.

- To educate the public about proper and responsible care of domestic companion animals.

Kitty Colony was founded in Lancaster County, PA.

A cat lover since childhood, I was heartbroken at the lack of care given to the barn cats on the farm where I was residing. I coudn't understand the philosophy of many of the farmers - "You don't feed Mousers" How can a cat chase mice if weak and emaciated from lack of proper nutrition or water? A healthy cat chases mice for sport - and will catch more than its unfed counterparts.
We started putting out food and water for the few cats that wandered through and were soon pulled into rescue work as the cats began to colonize and multiply on the property. The first few litters of kittens we cared for ourselves - We were able to tame and adopt out several and family pitched in to help foster the kittens when we couldn't.
As the colony continued to grow, we enlisted the help of PAWS Volunteers to help with the trapping and spaying/neutering of the cats, and several members assisted in fostering and socializing the kittens. Several of our socialized cats and kittens were adopted through a PAWS Petsmart Adoption center, others were incorporated into the Catworks Inc. or adopted out privately by PAWS volunteers. I nicknamed my little family of cats "Kitty Colony" and put together a personal Kodak webpage to share my pictures with friends and to help advertise and adopt the socialized cats and kittens there on the farm and fostered by my family.
When we moved from Lancaster County - I couldn't leave my "Barn Babies" - the cats that had been born, and had grown up in the barn - So I took them with me. These cats are still semi feral, or very feral (wild!) and most of them will probably remain so for the rest of thier lives. In that case, I will care for them and love them as much as they will allow me to - but they are now indoor-only and are living the good life - fat and lazy and happy!
Here in Jenkintown "Kitty Colony" has become a local rescue group complete with our own adoption program and TNR assistance for those who need it.
I also began volunteering and fostering this year for Cats With No Name - a mobile low cost spay/neuter program - and we hope to launch a Cats with No Name adoption program in the near future.
So now along with my "Barn Babies" are now many fosters, orphaned kittens, rescued strays, ferals and adoptables- Living in harmony with each other while waiting for thier forever families to find them.
