Ipso's Story...
This lovely creature lived in a car with her person after they became homeless. Her owner could not afford to feed her regularly so she had to catch rats and birds to supplement her diet. Ipso was loved dearly by her person, but he clearly saw that he could not properly care for her in his present situation. Her story is heartbreaking, but with kindness and support from her human friends Ipso’s heart will heal. She has been through so much recently it is not surprising that she is nervous of her new surroundings. She loves lounging in laps and playtime which relaxes her, helping her to forget her cares. We wish her previous caregiver the best and hope beautiful Ipso finds a loving, stable home soon. Ipso was born in 2009.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ipso, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
