Meet Rocky! Brains and beauty, all rolled up into one gorgeous boy! Rocky's a really good boy! He listens well and tries hard to please. He knows how to sit and shake a paw. He comes when he's called and goes into his run when asked. Rocky is about 4 yrs young and a real lover boy. He gets along with other dogs and would do well living with a buddy or would also flourish with being the only dog in the home. Rocky is very attentive to his people and is a real one on one kind of boy. Rocky is the type of dog that would be very loyal to his owner & with more training, he would totally rock! He is to interested in cats to live with them so no kitties please. Rocky is currently on a RAW diet and is in the process of being switched over to Orijen Fish and is doing great on the kibble. Rocky's stools were loose when he came into rescue (yes, we're talking about poop!) and they're perfectly firm now. We do feel that Rocky could possibly have an allergy to some foods and he's doing wonderful on his current diet so we do feel that he'll need to remain on a RAW diet or Orijen Fish kibble. Bow Wow Rescue is a small, entirely volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing public education, veterinary care and forever homes for abused, neglected and/or abandoned animals. Bow Wow Rescue is NOT taking in any more dogs due to the high numbers of dogs needing out of the pound and owner surrenders. We are hopeful that some of the wonderful foster dogs that need loving homes move on. Once we move a few foster dogs we will reopen our intake.
To adopt a dog from Bow Wow Rescue, you must fill out an adoption application, including one veterinary and two personal references. All animals will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and given a health check prior to being placed in their new home. The dog will be evaluated to ensure a suitable match between family and dog. We will then arrange to meet with you for a home visit. We require a fenced yard and do not adopt out to families with children under the age of eight.. All family members must be in agreement about adopting a dog, and all family members, including your dog(s) must be present during the visit. We do not adopt dogs to homes with intact pets, unless for medical reasons. We also will require landlord permission to have a pet if you are in a rental situation. Our donation required for adoptions is $350. For a senior or special needs dog, the donation is $150. **100% of adoption donations go towards spaying, neutering, medical care and fostering expenses of the dogs prior to adoption.**
