My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: Do to the fact Evan has been in boarding for over a year, we NEED to get him out of that environment. The trainer says he is starting to backslide on all of his learnings. Please consider at least fostering this guy so he can see what the real world is like. He is such a great, happy guy, he just needs that certain person to call his own.

Evan! To know Evan is to love him. He's a young sweetheart, almost 2 years old who has been with us for almost a year. He came in on guard. It took a lot of treats and patience to ever get him out of his cage that first day.

He is very unsure of strangers, but once he sees you are alright, he loves you for life. He has not displayed any aggression with any dogs (in fact he could care less about them), and only growls at strangers while stuck in his small cage.

He came in with no skills. He had no idea how to walk on a leash, get petted etc... Through a little bit of work from volunteers he is now walking better, and knows the sit ,stay ,and leave it commands. He is very treat motivated which has been a huge blessing. He still jumps while walking him at times, bites leash, and in excitement is mouthy (play bites). He is so loving and wants to please so much. He would benefit from someone who could help build his confidence. He is a beautiful kind soul who deserves a life outside of his small steel cage.

FOSTER UPDATE: Evan loves to come out and play with some of his doggy friends! He takes some time to get used to other dogs, but he has found he enjoys canine companionship. He is so soft and would love someone to love on him to no end. A great dog to walk with...or sit on the couch with!

UPDATE: Evan has continued to excel while staying with us at Tracking Lucky Dogs and High Drive Pups boarding facility. He learns everyday and continues to become a better dog. Wouldn't you love to meet this guy?

Evan would do best as an only dog, but an experienced adopter could allow Evan a doggie friend. He chooses his friends and does need to be monitored. Evan would like children, but could knock small children over.

His adoption comes with a free private training session at the High Drive Pups training facility (West Side of Cleveland, http://highdrivepups.com), and, if the new family is interested in advancing her obedience skills, affordable follow-up lesson plans.
