Jax's Story...
My name is Jax and I am not sure where I came from. I was found wondering the streets of Bedford and put in foster care. I foster mom is teaching how to sit, stay and walk in a leash. I am just a happy pup looking for a home. I'm about 70% housetrained. I am up to date medically and ready to meet my new owners. I would love to have some children to run and play with. I am about as big as I am going to get so I would be perfect as an inside dog. I love to run so if you need a jogging partner I am the one for you.
If you would like to meet Iris please go to http://bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jax, a Bedford Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
