Benji's Story...
Benji is an unaltered male Beagle who was acquired by Stray Haven on February 25, 2013, from Lunenburg County, VA Animal Control. He was picked up as a stray by animal control.

He is a young adult whose age is to be determined and weighs 18 lbs.. Benji is extrememly friendly with adults, children, dogs and cats. Benji still needs to go to the vet for his neuter, vaccines, etc.

Benji had a rough start prior to his rescue from Animal Control:

A woman rescued dogs on Thursday, 2/21/13, found out she was over her limit when neighbors called animal control in the county where she lives (2 hours from Lunenburg County, VA).

A rescue woman stepped in and took the dogs. Family emergencies developed which prevented her from keeping the dogs and she returned the dogs to animal control today 2/25/13. The dogs are scheduled to be put to sleep tomorrow 2/26/13.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benji, a Dundas Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Dundas, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Dundas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dundas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dundas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dundas paves the way for another one to be saved.
