Jewel's Story...
My name is Jewel and I am a dilute tortoiseshell. I was rescued from the shelter where they had to euthanized 350 cats a month in 2012. My chances of being adopted before that might happen were not very good. Luckily for me and several other cats, one of the volunteers from Feral Cat Rescue came to the shelter and decided to take us out to find homes for us. She picked us because we are super friendly. After I was fully vetted, and FCR made sure I didn't have any diseases, I curled up in my new foster mom's arms and slept with her all night. I purred and purred. I was born in June of 2012 so I am very young. I would be a great addition to any household. I am sweet and beautiful. Would you consider giving me love? I will love you back ten fold.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jewel, a Great Mills Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Great Mills, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Great Mills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Great Mills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Great Mills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Great Mills paves the way for another one to be saved.
