SugarBaby's Story...
Sugar Baby is a basenji mix a year old. She is crate trained, house trained and knows how to use a doggy door. Sugar Baby is very sweet and gets along everybody. She is slight heart worm positive, and is being treated with the "slow kill" method. Sugar Baby can still go to her forever home while she is undergoing treatment. Don't worry...Heart worms are not contagious to other dogs or to humans. She is outstanding on a leash and loves to go on car rides. Sugar is a very healthy girl otherwise. Sugar just wants to be with her human. She is very smart and knows "sit"," treat", and "stay".She is a great size for an apartment or someone who wants a nice mid size dog.
Sugar Baby is located in Knoxville, TN

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SugarBaby, a Hagerstown Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basenji for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Basenji dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basenji breeders who help with Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
