It's not his fault that he was born at a puppy mill and lived in a cage for the first four months of his life, and it's not his fault that his family fell prey to the pet store doublespeak (if you don't know what we mean, check out www.pinkshelter.com under the "Why Rescue" tab to read more about "Pet Store Doublespeak"). And it wasn't his family's fault that their daughter has developed severe allergies to him over time that prevent them from keeping him any longer. Every once in awhile there's a situation that is just unfortunate for everyone involved: the family, the children and the dog. We are hoping to find a silver lining for all of them in the form of the perfect home where Sam can finally blossom. Three years in a loving and well-meaning, but inexperienced, home has left Sam with some things to overcome. He has been raised in a home with kids and activity, but the commotion is just too much for Sam, and he desperately wants his own person in a quiet home where security and patience are the main focus. We know that the right experienced person can help him develop a better way to approach the world. Once he lets you into his circle, he is the loving, affectionate lap dog that the breed is known for . . . and what he really wants to be, all the time.
