Sebastian's Story...
Hello! My name is Sebastian. I am a 2-year-old orange tabby. When START II rescued me, I was an absolute mess. I was starved and emaciated, my body wasted away. I had a bite wound on my hip that was infected and needed to be drained. Because I was so malnourished, I was barely able to walk. Patches of fur fell off my body, paws, and face. START II volunteers watched me around the clock and nursed me back to health. My infection went away in a week, I was placed on a special high calorie/high nutrient diet, given lots of fluids, and much needed TLC.

Now, a month later, I look and feel amazing! I've still got a little bit more weight to gain, but I'm putting it on slow and steady. I am extremely affectionate and love hanging out with people. Playing is one of my favorite pastimes, especially with stuffed mice! My new furever home MUST provide me with a secure and healthy environment in which I will never suffer the horrors I have already endured. It is imperative that I receive unconditional love. And I would prefer to be treated like a king!

Sebastian is current with his vaccinations, parasite-free, neutered, and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. If you are interested in meeting Sebastian, please call Donna at (201) 873-7533 or email startkayne@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sebastian, a Elmwood Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
