Elijah's Story...
Hi! My name is Elijah. I am a 1-year-old buff domestic short hair. When i see people walk up to my cage, I begin purring immediately. People make me so happy! I love playing with other cats, too. Sometimes I get really excited while playing and the fur on my tail puffs to twice its size. My most favorite thing in the world is wet food. I've been known to run from a petting hand or drop toys mid-play to gobble a plate of kitty pate. All of my vaccinations are current, I'm already neutered, parasite-free, and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV.

Elijah is available for adoption at the Paramus PetSmart, across the street from the Garden State Plaza on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. You can also call (201) 906-7813 or email with any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elijah, a Elmwood Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
