My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 04/25/2013: Hi friends- it is me Elsie. I am a sweet 10 year old 8 lb little girl who is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL .
Foster mom`s report says I am doing great. When she got me she could feel my ribs, so I was a skinny minnie. I am on supplements for my joints, and I was on rimadyl for a while, but, after dancing down the driveway, FM says I don’t need that anymore. I am also on eye drops, and my eyes are clear and white. So that is my health, let me tell you how lovable I am. I am very shy, but am learning to cuddle, and be held, and kissed. I love to dance, and have the cutest little walk you will ever see. I am a happy little girl, who gets along with all my foster doggie sisters including something called a kitty kat? I love to eat, and I sleep a lot. I would do well having someone home with me to let me out every couple hours, and I would feel very nervous being home all day by myself. I am afraid of little children, but would be ok with older children. I still can’t jump up on furniture, so I don’t sleep on the bed or sit on the furniture unless you put me there and help me down. you can contact my foster mom with questions, she will help you with any questions. I hope you call me soon.
Love,
Elsie

UPDATED BIO 03/06/2013: Elsie is a sweet 10 year old 8 lb little girl who is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL.

My name is Elsie, and I am tiny, and sweet, and just plain adorable. At least that is what my foster parents say about me. I am very shy, and I mean VERY shy. I was adopted into another home, but things just didn’t work, so I am kind of like my other foster sisters, and we are all learning about self confidence, and not being so fearful. I am potty trained, and on eye drops for dry eyes. I also take joint supplements because I have these silly twiggy legs, and the joint supplements helps me run and play like a youngster. I sleep a lot, and don’t get up on the furniture because of my legs. I any learning how awesome kisses are, and how nice it feels to be held, but I have had some issues with being picked up, so I am working on feeling better about those pick ups and hugs. I am a good girl, who would do well with other animals, and I do get along with Kitties too. I need to be let out often, because even though I am house-trained, I need someone to let me out every couple hours. Someone who is home a lot who can keep me company, as with another furkid would be ideal.

Could I be your ideal Miss Elsie? xoxo Elsie

UPDATED BIO 01/28/2013: Elsie is a sweet 10 year old 8 lb little princess who somehow found herself in a high-kill shelter for the holidays. Elsie is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL.

Elsie is extremely sweet and she is a very quiet dog. She has barked one single time and that was to let a sassy little kitten know she was not a chew toy! She gets along great with other dogs and with cats at well. She is submissive and it looks like she might not have always been treated so nicely in her former life. But, she is also loving and isn't frightened of things - just maybe a bit wary.

She had a dental and lost a couple of teeth, but otherwise has most of her teeth. Her tongue does stick out of the front of her mouth sometimes - too cute! Ellie is very tuned-in to her person and looks to them for cues on what they want her to do ~so smart! She is house-trained, and knows to go out to potty, but has had a couple of accidents at night.

Elsie would make a great companion for a quiet household or for a senior looking for some quiet company. Could she be your perfect little four-legged companion?
