Another family has had to make a really tough decision to surrender this little beauty to Lake Haven. Cassidy is a 6 month old beagle/lab that her family just adores. They have 3 little kids, the youngest being 7 months old. She somehow got hurt and broke her front elbow joint, and with a family with 3 small children, they just do not have the funds to cover that surgery.They love her, the kids love her and she loves them and they had to make an decision that no family ever wants to make, to give her up so someone can help her and fix her elbow.Lake Haven got her immediate medical treatment and unfortunately, her leg was unable to be saved. She will be available for adoption after all of her medical needs are taken care of and she heals.

All of our dogs are tested for heartworm, are up to date on vaccines and started on flea and tick prevention. All our cats are tested for feline leukemia, FIV and heartworm upon entry and are brought up to date on all vaccines appropriate for their age and treated for fleas and ticks. If a pet is too young to be spay/neuter at the time of adoption a voucher will be provided to cover the cost of the surgery.
We bring most of our available dogs to the PetSmart in Grandville MI on the 1st three Saturdays of each month from noon until 3 pm. If you want to see them at other times you have to send us an Email to make arrangements. Since many of our dogs are in foster homes it may take some time to make the viewing arrangements if you can't come to PetSmart. Many of our cats are available for viewing at PetSmart any day during their store hours.
Adoption Fees:
Cats and kittens:
- Adult cats declawed - $100
- Adult cats not declawed - $75
- All kittens - $75
- Barn cats - $25
Dogs and puppies:
- Mixed breed - $150
- Purebred/designer - $200
Lake Haven is an all-volunteer private, non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue dedicated to the care and adoption of homeless and/or injured dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. Even though we do not provide any transport service we have adopted to people as far away as Philidelphia, PA. We will adopt to anyone from anywhere as long as their adoption application is approved and they are willing to travel to South Western Michigan.
