Shyla's Story...
Both Shyla and Sydnee are very happy and energetic. They are about a year old and weigh about 15lbs. They love lying on the couch with their family, getting pets and treats. Shyla is the more reserved of the two and Sydnee (see her page) is more outgoing. They get along well with all other dogs and don't bother cats much except to bark at them from time to time. They are both great little lap dogs who love attention and will follow their people everywhere. These are two HAPPY, HAPPY girls. If you are interested in meeting either one please fill out an adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html or email their foster mom at kellek-9@peoplepc.com. Be sure to say that you are looking for Shyla or Sydnee. . Thanks.

About Our Rescue Group...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.
