I am good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Little Zoey and her friend, Emily, became homeless when their elderly owner passed away. She had spent her entire life tied outside to a dog house. Zoey is about 4-5 years old. She is outgoing and friendly and loves going out for exercise and getting attention. With just a little training, Zoey will make a wonderful house pet. Won’t you give Zoey a chance to spend the rest of her life as a member of the family? Our preadoption application is available online by clicking the link on our home page at: www.ockyanimals.petfinder.com under the Adopting A Friend section. Adoption requirements for Zoey are indoor-home, fenced yard or rural home setting, no tie-outs or tethers, vet reference, and home visit. Please contact the shelter by e-mail only about adopting Zoey, since she is in a foster home and not at the shelter.
Act quickly to adopt Zoey. Pets at this shelter may be held for only a short time.

Shelter Info...
We are an open-admission, municipal shelter that accepts all animals brought to the shelter by county residents at no cost. Out-of-county residents are charged a small fee. We welcome all rescue groups.

Be sure to note how your donation is to be used.
You may sponsor a specific animal if you wish or we will apply your gift to the neediest dog or cat.
The shelter is open to the public Mon-Tue-Thu-Fri from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sat from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We make every effort to accomodate our adopters and can schedule an appointment after regular hours. Our goal is to find qualified forever homes for all our animals.
Fees are as follows:
DOG: $75.00
CAT: $65.00
For Ohio County residents, the fee includes health check at a local veterinarian and spay/neuter surgery. All other veterinary costs are the responsibility of the adopter. For non-residents, the fee is reimbursed to your veterinarian upon proof of spay/neuter. Any other costs are the responsibility of the adopter. Out-of state adopters are welcome, but must submit a veterinarian reference. Special-needs animals will be adopted to homes which have passed a pre-adoption interview and home visit.
We adopt out-of-county and out-of-state, as well as locally. Out-of-state adoptions require a veterinarian reference.
