My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Rosie. I was given this name because of my rosy disposition despite everything I’ve been through. I was found in a ditch almost starved to death just before Thanksgiving. I could barely walk because I was so weak and the vet says I had a broken pelvis that was never attended to. To make matters worse I also tested positive for heartworms and had a prolapsed vulva! I was still so sweet and would try my hardest to wag my little nub tail even though I could barely lift my head. Thankfully, Pooches Cooperative and my foster family agreed to take me in despite all of these issues. Ever since then I’ve been on the mend and never looked back. My pelvis is healed now and although I do walk like a cowgirl I get around just fine. I’ve put on almost 20 pounds! I’ve also been treated for my heartworms but am still on crate rest for a few more weeks. I'm spayed now so no more "lady issues" and have had all of my shots. The vet guesses I'm about 3-4 years old.
I’m so grateful for everything that has been done for me. I LOVE my people and wag my whole body now whenever I see them. I’m great in the house and know how to sit and shake. I tell them when I have to go outside to potty. I’ve learned what toys are and how to play like a real member of the family, not just a backyard breeder. I would do great in a home as an only dog or with another calm submissive dog. You see, I’m still fearful of other animals but if they are calm and nice I learn to trust them. I do like to guard my food from other animals (NOT humans) but who can blame me. I’m good with cats too as long as they don’t try to steal my food either.
I love my foster family but what I really want is a home to spend the rest of my life. I deserve to be spoiled and pampered. Please, you MUSTpaste following link into your browser BEFORE emailing for further information.
