Bailey's Story...
Bailey is a 10-year-young Maltese-Shitzu mix weighing in at about 15 pounds. He can stand his own ground with the big dogs in the house but is not aggressive or defensive. He is great with all ages of children but is not a fan of cats. He seems to be completely housebroken and has gone out even in the cold weather without hesitation. He does great in the car and can get in and out with ease. He will bark if there is a knock at the door but is not an excessive barker. He loves belly rubs and back scratches but is not a needy fella as he will lay contently on his pillow. He seems like a very happy-go-lucky little guy and he will make a great addition to a family who wants an adorable new family member to accompany them on their adventures. If you would like to meet Bailey, please fill out a statement of interest @ (under the ADOPT menu).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bailey, a Bellingham Shih Tzu/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Maltese for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Maltese dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Maltese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
