Buttercup's Story...

Buttercup is a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix. Born on Nov. 23, Buttercup is nicknamed 'Spider-Rella' by her foster family. She was the first puppy to scale (like Spiderman) the puppy walls set up for safety, and the first to master the stairs. She has long spindly legs that give her the advantage to navigate over most hurdles in her way. Buttercup is also very graceful (like Cinderella). Buttercup is playful, curious, independent, and affectionate. She is always ready to give kisses and likes to be cuddled, especially after an afternoon of playing. Although Buttercup is not completely house trained yet, paper is put down and she is making progress. She is also learning to walk on a leash. She gets along with other dogs and is fostered in a busy home with older kids. Because she is so small despite her long legs, she would not do well in a home with very young kids who might mistake her for a stuffed toy! And because Buttercup is a puppy, she needs someone who is home most of the day to continue with her house training and socialization. Buttercup is up-to-date on shots, and will need to be spayed when she is old enough.

PLEASE NOTE:   HHARG does not have a shelter or other physical location. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes.

If you are interested in a dog, please first review our adoption policies and procedures and fees, and then fill out our online adoption application.

Please do not email us to ask if a dog is available. If the dog is on our website, he or she is available. We are an all-volunteer group, and our time is limited. Answering emails about availability only slows down the process of processing applications.
