Dewey is a 3 year old Bloodhound mix that arrived from another rescue in hopes of finding a new home sooner at Friendship. Someone is bound to see what a great fellow he is and snatch him up quickly once he returns from his training. Dewey has an endearing personality and is a docile dog. Dewey was found to be heartworm positive during his vet visit. He is being treated while in prison. Dewey will return a trained and healthy dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dewey-Prison Dog, a Elyria Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
