Buddy's Info...

I am already neutered, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.

Buddy's Story...
Buddy is a sweetheart! He loves people and is affectionate and friendly. He was found by a good Samaritan near the Missions in San Antonio. He had a severe injury to his ear, some chipped teeth, a tear or two on his good ear, goopy eyes and raging hormones. The abcess was repaired and he was neutered. He's about 3 years old. He's definitely been owned in the past as he is extremely friendly. He likes to be petted and talked to, and lay at your feet while you sit.

Buddy tested positive for FIV, most likely from his rough life on the streets. FIV is not a death sentence and he has a great chance at a healthy, normal life. He has lived with non-FIV cats for the past year and has not passed his FIV on to any of them. As long as he is kept current on his vaccines and kept away from sick animals, he has a pretty normal life expectancy.

Buddy's adoption fee is $35.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a San Antonio American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
