Meow! My name is Buddy
|Breed:||American Shorthair||Color:||Orange Or Red (Mostly)||Age:||Adult|
I am already neutered, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and not good with dogs.
Buddy is a sweetheart! He loves people and is affectionate and friendly. He was found by a good Samaritan near the Missions in San Antonio. He had a severe injury to his ear, some chipped teeth, a tear or two on his good ear, goopy eyes and raging hormones. The abcess was repaired and he was neutered. During surgery it was found that he had a non-descending testicle, so that had to be removed. He has a nice big scar to show for it. He's about 8 pounds and looks like a typical Garfield Tom Cat. He's estimated to be about 3 years old. He's definitely been owned in the past as he is extremely chatty and friendly. He likes to be petted and talked to, and lay at your feet while you sit.
Buddy tested positive for FIV, which could have been a false positive if he had been vaccinated before. FIV is not a death sentence and he has a great chance at a healthy, normal life. Are you the person to give him that life? Be Buddy's buddy!

Rescue Group Info...
I have been rescuing cats and kittens for years and am passionate about changing the public's opinion of cats. There is a negative sterotype to cats that is just not true. People perceive cats as lazy, aloof, independent and uncaring but cats are not these things. They make wonderful companions that are snuggly, loving and relatively low-maintenance.
All visits with adoptable cats must be pre-arranged as I operate out of my home. Adoption events are scheduled monthly and listed on my Facebook page.
Kitten season is in full swing at the Whisker house! Come meet your new fuzzy friend!
Each adoption may consist of a home visit to ensure that the cat is a good fit for the family. An adoption contract and minimum donation is also required. Cats over one year are $65 and cats under one year are $75.
Each cat and kitten is spayed or neutered, de-wormed, given a flea preventive, given all vaccinations including rabies, and FIV/FeLV tested. The average amount we spend on each cat for these things is $127, so you're getting a bargain!
Intake procedure: intake is currently closed as the rescue is at capacity. However, each intake is done on a case by case basis. If you have a cat or kitten that needs a home, please email me with as much info as possible (i.e. age, is the cat fixed, vaccinated, combo tested, good with other cats, kids, dogs, etc) and attach a couple of pictures if possible. If this info is not included I will not respond. There is a minimum surrender donation required of $50 for vetted cats and $100 for non-vetted and pregnant cats.
We adopt out cats and kittens in the San Antonio and surrounding areas, including Bexar and Comal counties.
