Have you ever heard the saying "nothing but a cash cow" - well that is me....for my entire 5 years of life, I lived in a cage producing puppies. Literally, I was a cash cow for my previous owner. But wait, I couldn't produce anymore so I was put out there as "free to good home" - that is what my life summed up to be. I wonder how much money I made for my previous owners through my lifetime and yet, tossed like a worthless piece of nothing.Fortunately, a Lake Haven volunteer found my "free to good home" and rescued me - I am now at Lake Haven but having a tough time. You see, I never really had human contact, never had a soft bed to sleep on, never had a treat, never went for a walk and enjoy the sunshine and the ability to sniff and snort, never never never - that was my life. But the Director lady talks to me all the time, she gently strokes my ears and speaks softly to me and I stand still - I don't know what she is doing but when she stops I slowly ease forward for more. I like that feeling and I like she spends time with me.I will be and am a work in progress...patience is what I need and trust is what I will eventually learn. I need someone who has experience with this type of situation and someone who will help me learn to be a dog.Oh, I forgot, I got a name too - that is the first step to my healing....my name is Gina.
