Betty Lou's Story...
If any dog has a "country song" kind of life, it would be Betty Lou. She knows what it is like to be loved and left, lied to and given up on. Betty Lou is still hopeful and very trusting, happy to see people, loves to fetch ball, go for walks and play with other dogs. She adores sitting next to you, being loved on and listening to you talk to her. Surely someone will re-write the song of her life and make it good again for her. Could you be that special person?

She plays well with other dogs, and hasn't met a stranger that wasn't an instant friend (human or canine). Betty Lou is a great gal and would fit in well in just about any household.

Betty Lou's adoption fee is $100; she’s up to date with routine shots, micro-chipped and altered and has tested negative for heartworms.
Some of our dogs are in foster homes; please call the shelter, 618-282-7387, to check on their location.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Betty Lou, a Columbia Catahoula Leopard Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
