Dusty is coming out of his shell and learning to trust. We will never know what happened to this sweet boy to make him so wary of humans but we do know he has a Golden heart and recognizes and responds to kindness. It is time for him to take the next big step into a loving home. He enjoys the company of other dogs, large and small, following them around and finding comfort in their presence. Dusty seems to be more secure with women and still skittish around big men. If you have room in your heart and home for Dusty and the means and desire to work with him to gain his trust, you will experience the joy that comes from witnessing the transformation of the lost dog to devoted companion knowing that on that day when he looks deeply into your eyes and shares his soul that you are forevermore his hero.
If you are interested in Dusty, please visit our webpage at http://www.arizonagoldenrescue.org/ and complete an Online Adoption Application to begin the process, or send an e-mail to info@arizonagoldenrescue.org if you have questions and wish to be contacted.
Hi my name is Dusty and I'm about a year old. It will take some time and a very special angel sent to me to love me as I am until I can trust you and show you how much I appreciate the save. Your job will be to spoil me rotten in love and oh some of those treats you humans call cookies. I shouldn't be with tiny children, but a teen age and higher may be an asset. I will eventually require some simple training because once I love you, I will love with all of my heart making me so happy to take that first breath in my every morning. While most rescues take everyday for granted, I will never take you for granted. I will love you each and every day unconditionally like "I can't believe an angel was sent to me". Rescue says there are people who choose to adopt, and there are people who choose to rescue ... I need a rescue Angel! Are you my Angel?
Dusty is a very cute 1 year old who is very insecure and frightened by unknown circumstances that landed him at the shelter as a stray. He will do best in a loving home with gentle people willing to be patient with him as he learns to trust and enjoy all the benefits and security of a forever home.
Prior to adoption, all AGR dogs are given a full vet exam, including valley fever and heartworm tests, brought up to date on all vaccinations, given a microchip, neutered or spayed, and treated for any medical problems.

Rescue Group Info...
Arizona Golden Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly-Golden mixes that may have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted or surrendered by their owners due to previously unforeseen circumstances, and find new, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also microchipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.
Dates and times of regular meet-and-greets are shown on the Events Calendar on our Website.
Please note that all adoptable dogs remain on the website until their adoptions are finalized. As hard as we try to screen the adoptable dogs and their new potential "Forever Home", there is always the possibility that the FWITA (Foster With Intent To Adopt) and the adoptable dog are not compatible and then the dog would return to adoptable status"
Application must be submitted; can be downloaded from website. Home evaluation is done. Once approved, applicant must wait for placement of dog. If fostering with intent to adopt, applicant must pay membership fee (minimum $25 for single, $40 for household) and dog's adoption fee, which ranges from $350 for 0-2-year-old, to $325 for 2-5, $300 for 5- 9 and $250 for over 9. Organization covers all vet costs while dog is in foster care and until adoption is finalized.
