Sarge's Info...

Sarge's Story...
SARGE is a friendly 8-year-old beagle. Sadly, the family he lived with since he was a puppy decided to give him up so they could get a new puppy. They were going to take him to a local shelter where they were told Sarge would be put down. We agreed to take Sarge. At Safe Place, we have a soft spot for seniors and we believe this friendly guy deserves to live out the rest of his life in a loving home, not to have it ended abruptly at a kill shelter.

Sarge is good with dogs and cats but needs a home without small children. If you’d like to meet this personable and friendly senior, contact or 319-481-0977. The adoption fee is on a sliding scale of $80-$125; you choose the amount that is right for you.
If you are 65 years or better, the adoption fee will be waived.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sarge, a Cedar Rapids Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
