Tyler Powhatan's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, and up to date with shots.

Tyler Powhatan's Story...

Tyler is a laid back, friendly, gentle giant. He enjoys the company of humans and other dogs, and is just a roll-with-the-punches kind of guy.

He must have been on his own for awhile. He came to us with an upper respiratory infection and terribly thin. His coat is a bit dull and dry and he bears a few scars from a hard lived life. Already he has put on some weight, and as he gets used to clean, dry bedding and nutritious food, his coat will regain it's natural lustre.

It's hard to imagine that this gentle soul could sail over a fence, and honestly, we don't know that he'd even try, but those are some mighty long legs and we'd prefer him to have a yard with a TALL, secure fence or be with someone with the fortitude to leash him up for every trip outside. Please consider fostering Tyler.

About Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland. Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland is dedicated to helping all beagles in need. Most of the dogs that come into the rescue are hunter rejects, either because they do not want to hunt, or because they are too old or simply ill. Our goal is to rehabilitate these wonderful companion dogs and place them in forever loving homes. We are a network of foster homes and rely solely on the dedication of volunteers. Our motto is: "Hug your hound, don't take him to the pound."

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a centralized location, but you can visit our website to find out when and where we hold our adoption events (usually twice a month). We also take part in special fairs and events. You can come and meet with some of our dogs then.
If you see a dog on our website that you are interested in, we request that you first fill out our Application and submit it electronically.

Our Adoption Process...

We require submission of an online application. If all requirements are met, we do a home visit and check the vet reference (when it applies). Please refer to our website to see the kinds of questions we ask. We ask for a tax-deductible adoption donation of $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their shots (rabies, distemper and parvo, bordetella), are heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative, micro-chipped and de-wormed.
