Sonya Blade's Story...
Look at this beautiful model! She even sits politely to have her pictures taken! Sonya is a beautiful, petite little girl who is very patient and loving. She is the epitome of a lap cat and LOVES plenty of attention. She was very patient as she let her foster brother get used to the idea of her - but now they are friends. She has never been around other dogs, but we believe if the dogs were polite she would do great!

Sonya is a real catch! Could she be perfect for you? Her adoption fee is $150.

Our Adoption Process...
The adoption application process may take up to seven days, but will often be less. Application Forms are available under the adopt tab of our website. Please complete and email to Lauren@Savinggraceanimalrescuemd.com in a timely manner as we cannot guarantee how long the animal you are interested in will remain available. The process consists of your completion of an adoption application, our review of the application and contacting relevant references, verifying the application information, a home visit and then contacting you with a decision about approval. Once the application is approved, the adopter is contacted and arrangements are made to complete the adoption contract and take their new animal home.

While we do welcome out-of-state applicants, we highly encourage you to look around at your local shelters to see what they may have to offer before contacting us. We do not “ship” our animals.

We understand the desire to meet our animals as soon as possible. But because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit pet visitation to approved applicants only. Once your application is completed by you and approved by Saving Grace, we will be glad to schedule your visit.

When you meet the animal, the Saving Grace volunteer will make a determination if it is a match. If it is, you are welcome to adopt the animal at that time. You are NEVER obligated to adopt the animal. If it is a match, it is then your decision whether to adopt.

We do not have a policy about ages of children, the determination is case-by-case. We love children and animals together. However, we DO expect that all children will be respectful, gentle and kind to the animals and be supervised by the adult in the family, closely supervised if the children are very young. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt.

Saving Grace reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone for any reason. Your patience is appreciated as we receive many applications each day and have many animals to care for.
If you are approved and adopt, you will be expected to let us know how your new family member settles in, how everything goes at the vet (you are required to take your newly adopted animal to the vet within 7 days of the adoption) and then to follow up once your kitten/puppy is spayed/neutered, if applicable. Of course, we hope that you will always maintain communication with us, as we are always available to help and/or hear the “tails” of your furry family members.
If for some reason you can no longer care for your animal, you are REQUIRED to contact us. We make a lifetime commitment to all of our animals. We expect to have the animals returned to us. If you need to re-home your animal and you know of someone who is interested, we ask you to still contact us so that we may be part of the process. You may never turn your animal over to a shelter, unless required to do so by law.
You will be required to read and sign the adoption contract before we will give the animal to you. If you have questions regarding its terms, please email Lauren.

FEES: Feed will generally be $150 per cat and $250 per dog. But each animal is unique and their fees may vary. See each pet’s individual pricing for the adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonya Blade, a Baltimore Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Baltimore, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Baltimore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baltimore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baltimore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baltimore paves the way for another one to be saved.
