Hi Everybody!
I’m Riley, a 10 month old bichon with big black eyes and a happy smile. My ‘aunties’ at Bichon FurKids say my middle names should be ‘Curious’ because I like to explore the world around me and am so inquisitive.
My foster Mom calls me “Super Glue” because I bonded with her in about two seconds. She says I’m sweet but also feisty, lovable and very puppy-like. And she is right.
I am crate trained, house-trained, and fun to have around. And (drum roll please) I love my toys! No surprise there. I also like my doggy foster brothers (they’re so much fun) and like to play. In fact, I encourage them to play with me. I’ve taught them to ‘play ‘chase’ and ‘fetch’. You see I’m very good at retrieving things. And when they don’t want to play with me, then I just entertain myself!
Mom says I love to ride in the car, go on walks and practice my commands. (A guy likes a challenge you know!) So far I know ‘sit’, ‘here’, ‘come’, ‘quiet’, ‘wait’ and ‘down’. There is no doubt that I am SMART.
Once I know you I’m very friendly. Mom’s teaching me that I don’t have to protect her when we are out on a walk – and she is teaching me not to be anxious if she leaves the room. Since I’m only a puppy that’s something I’m sure to learn. And, did I tell you I’ll do anything for a treat? Mom says that’s a good way to train me to be the bestest boy I can be.
There is one other thing that you should know. Besides being lovable and very cute I need someone who is dog savvy and even smarter than I am. That’s because I’m looking for someone to be in charge, like Mom is. Otherwise it would be easy for me to take control -- and Mom says I’m not old enough to do that. My Aunties at BFK also think for now I would be happiest in a home without young children. I'm just not quite ready for that.
