Dawson's Story...
Dawson is absolutely adorable! He is very affectionate and will ask for attention by head butting you and rubbing up against you. Once you start petting him, let the purring begin as Dawson morphs into a purr machine! Dawson loves being pet...especially if you scratch his ears, head, chin, and chest…oh, who are we kidding…he loves being pet all over the place! He likes to sit in your lap but will frequently re-position himself to allow you ample opportunity to pet him all over. If he rubs up against your face, be prepared for chills to rush down your spine as he purrs sweet nothings into your ear!

Dawson is very enthusiastic and energetic when it comes to playtime. It is hilarious if you play with him on linoleum or a tile floor because he slides all over the place as he's pursuing his toys! Dawson loves chasing balls around the room and loves leaping into the air in an attempt to capture any wand toy that is being waved around. He does need to work on his form a bit…some of his landings are lacking in grace and when he stands on his hind legs to try and grab the wand toy, he'll fall over onto the floor with an "oomph" and look like a pile of cat before he picks himself back up again to pursue the wand toy once more! As Dawson is playing, he has the cutest habit of letting out these little chirping noises. I'm not sure if he's doing this as a little pep talk of encouragement to himself or if he does it because he gets so excited while playing the little chirpy noises just slip out…whatever the reason, it's pretty darn cute!

Dawson does just fine with other friendly kitties and wouldn't mind having another feline friend or two to pal around with. Dawson's affectionate nature and playful antics will make him a welcome addition to any family lucky enough to call him their own! To learn more - www.azrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dawson, a Phoenix Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
