BARON - $150's Story...

All pets adopted out will be spay/neutered, micro-chipped, Heartworm tested, rabies and relevent vaccinations.

Monthly Heartworm preventative, and monthly flea/tick preventative must be administered throughout the course of the dogs life.

The adoption donation of dogs may vary. Please check out each individual dogs information for the minimum donation amount.

The Application can be downloaded from the website, or feel free to email to request one.

Indepth application, references and a home check will be required before adoption is completed.

Anyone wanting to adopt a German Shepherd MUST have knowledge about their needs. These are very intelligent dogs that need lots of exericse, both physically and mentally.

Please discuss and consider if you are now, and will be in the foreseable future, in a financial position to provide to the dogs needs, unexpected vet bills, and common health issues specific to the breed.

Please note, any 'curtousy post' is just that, GaDaH knows nothing about that individual animal, however, will pass on your enqury to the rescue that has the pet.

Stunning Energetic Male GSD

BARON is a stunning, energetic, young dog, the shelter put him at 3 years, however, I believe him to be more 18-24 months.

BARON was saved from Garland Kill Shelter and deemed dog aggressive.
BARON is NOT dog aggressive, however, BARON doesn't know how to behave. He has clearly had no socialization from the people who previously owned him. When he is in the house, he will lie down as close as he can get, or he will cuddle up and enjoy the loving.
Due to this BARON needs to have an experienced GSD / Working Dog person adopt him. He is very sweet, very affectionate, very vocal and typical GSD mouthy.
BARON is an EXTREMELY intelligent boy - when told to do something I can see him thinking it over if he is going to do it or not, sometimes he does, or sometimes he makes it into a game, or "tries" to make it into a game. BARON needs to be doing something, be it trained as a Service Dog, taken to agility or any other physical and mental exercise. He has not really shown much interest in toys, but that might be as he has not been shown to play with them, he loves his bones, and he loves to play with the other dogs.
BARONs adoption donation is $150
GaDaH does allow out of state adoptions, however, the family must travel to San Antonio, to spend time with the dog to make sure personalities are a good match before traveling home together.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please visit out website or facebook page for all current upcoming events.

GaDaH does not have a regular venue, however, we do attend most of the AAPAWS mega adoption events, and the yearly San Antonio PET EXPO's.

We enjoy bringing potential pets to your home, so that you can get more of a feel for the dog/puppy, and how it interacts with your family members.

For more information, please email

Our Adoption Process...

NO DOG, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES will be adopted out to be an OUTSIDE DOGS.

All dogs are to be part of the family and treated as such.

If you are looking for a guard dog, a protection dog, or just a dog to keep in your yard, then please reconsider the responsibilities of owning a dog.
Please go our website "" to download an application form.

Complete it and send it to "" so arrangements can be made for a meet and great.

GaDaH will bring the potential adoptable pets to your home for a meet and greet, once the application, and references have been submitted.

The adoption process includes, but is not limited to:

A meet and greet
An in-depth application - download from website
A letter of reference from a current or former vet - on their letter headed paper
Two written references from people who know you and your family well - (not from family members).
A meet and greet on neutral ground with any other dogs
A home visit
A home visit with the dog/puppy

Potential adopters are encouraged to meet potential dogs/puppies as often as they like, and no rush decisions made. If after the above, both parties would like to go forward with an adoption, then a ONE-WEEK Temporary foster contract is completed, before any adoption process can be complete.

This is to ensure the potential adopters, and as equally important the dog/puppy, and GaDaH are all happy.
