Monthly Heartworm preventative, and monthly flea/tick preventative must be administered throughout the course of the dogs life.

The adoption donation of dogs may vary. Please check out each individual dogs information for the minimum donation amount.

The Application can be downloaded from the website, or feel free to email to request one.

Indepth application, references and a home check will be required before adoption is completed.

Anyone wanting to adopt a German Shepherd MUST have knowledge about their needs. These are very intelligent dogs that need lots of exericse, both physically and mentally.

Please discuss and consider if you are now, and will be in the foreseable future, in a financial position to provide to the dogs needs, unexpected vet bills, and common health issues specific to the breed.

Please note, any 'curtousy post' is just that, GaDaH knows nothing about that individual animal, however, will pass on your enqury to the rescue that has the pet.

Stunning Energetic Male GSD

Meet BARON - this handsome, super intelligent boy is still waiting for the right family to find him.

BARON, we believe is a PANDA SHEPHERD and is so smart and full of life. He is a complete love bug, he loves to play with dogs or humans, l ast night he was rolling round in the hay that Donald was trying to put out and then giving him kisses before rolling around again.

BARON is one of those vocal dogs, not necessarily barking, but he likes to talk and make sure you are listening. BARON is VERY responsive, but he also is the dog that will "at times" push you to your limits, but he always knows when he has pushed a little bit too much as he will run off and play as if nothing has ever happened.

BARON does bark a lot when people are at the other side of the fence, I wouldn't say this is fence-aggression, its just that he wants to be out there. I take him in the woods with my own dogs off leash and he doesn't run far, he stays close by and will come in when told to.

BARON is full of energy, he needs an active family and he needs a family that has time to work on obedience, advance and then other kinds of training. BARON is the dog that needs to be doing something. At times it is as if he doesn't know how to behave and so guidance and supervision is a must until he is settled and everyone is confident in that he understands and knows how to behave.

BARON is truly a great dog, but as mentioned he needs an experienced family who are active and love working with dogs. Someone who understands that these dogs can easily manipulate us humans and out-smart us easily! BARON will give the right family a LOT of fun and pride as he will excel in all that he is taught to do.

BARON is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm negative and micro-chipped. He has a date of birth of approximately January 2011 and he weighs around 65-70 pounds.

BARON is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $350

Our application process and form can be found on our website under the APPLICATION TAB!

GaDaH does allow out of state adoptions and use Rescue Road Trips LLC to take our saved souls to the East Coast and Paws Without Borders LLC, to take our saved souls to the West Coast.

GaDaH works on getting the dogs both physically and mentally healthy, and to provide a loving, safe home, with training whilst in the search of finding their truly deserved forever home

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please visit out website or facebook page for all current upcoming events.

GaDaH does not have a regular venue, however, we do attend most of the AAPAWS mega adoption events, and the yearly San Antonio PET EXPO's.

We enjoy bringing potential pets to your home, so that you can get more of a feel for the dog/puppy, and how it interacts with your family members.

For more information, please email

Our Adoption Process...

NO DOG, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES will be adopted out to be an OUTSIDE DOGS.

All dogs are to be part of the family and treated as such.

If you are looking for a guard dog, a protection dog, or just a dog to keep in your yard, then please reconsider the responsibilities of owning a dog.
Please go our website "" to download an application form.

Complete it and send it to "" so arrangements can be made for a meet and great.

GaDaH will bring the potential adoptable pets to your home for a meet and greet, once the application, and references have been submitted.

The adoption process includes, but is not limited to:

A meet and greet
An in-depth application - download from website
A letter of reference from a current or former vet - on their letter headed paper
Two written references from people who know you and your family well - (not from family members).
A meet and greet on neutral ground with any other dogs
A home visit
A home visit with the dog/puppy

Potential adopters are encouraged to meet potential dogs/puppies as often as they like, and no rush decisions made. If after the above, both parties would like to go forward with an adoption, then a ONE-WEEK Temporary foster contract is completed, before any adoption process can be complete.

This is to ensure the potential adopters, and as equally important the dog/puppy, and GaDaH are all happy.
