LULU's Story...
This is Lulu's story...
Pipe pup was one of the many dogs that the volunteer feeders have been tracking since the end of December 2012. With intake being closed, the best we could do was keep an eye on her and make sure she had food to eat. She is a very very shy girl and would not let anyone near her.

For who knows how long, this sole little dog made a ditch under a rail road track her home. We’ve been out there when the train goes through. The piercing blow of the warning horn pains the ears. The rumble and vibration of the train as it speeds over the tracks is numbing and jarring at the same time. Yet, this is where she felt the safest.

Just a young pup, she was all alone except for an occasional stray who would show up to share a meal. As hard as we tried, we could not earn her trust enough. As she grew bigger it became apparent that soon, she would not fit in the pipe much longer and we also were concerned about her lack of socialization with humans.

It was time to bring her into the program but obviously, she never got the memo. Lulu continued to run from us and resisted every method we tried to capture her.

After many attempts she was finally caught and was taken to the vet for immediate care. We have a feeling, this might be the first restful sleep that Lulu has had in a very long time.

Lulu is sweet, very friendly and ready to be your best friend! She had a very scary, rough start to life but she is beginning to understand that life can be good! Lulu is in a foster home and is learning the routines of a home.

Lulu is a sheperd/Bernese Mountain Dog mix and is around 8 months old. She is healthy and happy. Lulu gets along with kids, adults, dogs and cats. She will be the perfect companion for many years to come!

Lulu's adoption fee is $150. To adopt Lulu please go to www.corridorrescue.org and fill out an application under the adoption tab.

About Corridor Rescue Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Corridor Rescue Inc. is an all breed 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable animal rescue organization on a mission. A mission of mercy, rescue and awareness. A mission to save lives and correct an injustice to animals who have been thrown away and left, often times injured and starving, to fend for themselves in the Hwy 59 and Little York area of Houston - apparently the dividing line for the county and city Animal Control. Its about a mile strip of road dubbed the "Corridor of Cruelty". Veer off to the left or right along any point and see the same everywhere - abandoned and starving dogs, in pain and suffering. Here, trash and animals are discarded without thought on a regular basis. We're not talking about a handful of animals, but hundreds of physically and emotionally damaged animals in the fight of their lives to simply survive another day.

Started by one person, Corridor Rescue has grown its team of volunteers, from all walks of life, united in an effort to help this community of orphaned animals in desperate need of help. We work to rescue hard to capture dogs and cats; to rescue and rehabilitate diseased and injured dogs; to facilitate the rescue of animals mainly from the Corridor of Cruelty but also from other areas of Houston; to educate about spay/neuter and animal cruelty laws.

Success happens everyday yet we know that our fight is far from over

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $150. We require all potential adopters to complete our pre-adoption application. Please contact adopt@corridorrescue.org with inquiries, or visit our website to fill out our online adoption application - www.corridorrescue.org

After review of your application, a rescue volunteer will contact you. We will check veterinary references on all current pets or any that you have had in the past 3 years. We conduct a home visit by appointment to meet family members, other pets, and to evaluate home safety conditions. If we feel the potential adoption is a good match for the family and the pet, then we proceed with placing the animal on a "trial adoption". We want to be sure that your new pet is right for you!
