This is Foxy and he is a compact little guy in a small body weighing just under 15 pounds! He was abandoned at the vet clinic when he was attacked by another dog and the owner didn't want to pay the bill to fix him up. I guess they didn't think he was worth it! But the vets fell in love with him and fixed him right up and he is as good as ever. They reached out to rescue for this sweet boy and The Animal Center came to his aid! Sadly he was also Heartworm + so he had to endure treatment and the recovery from that as well! But now he is more than ready to find his forever home! He is easy going, good with kids and small dogs and cats!!! He walks great on a leash, is crate trained, and just needs someone to love!

About The Animal Center

About Our Rescue Group...

Welcome Friends! The Animal Center ("The Center") is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals. Our goal is to help end companion animal homelessness and prevent cruelty to animals in Newtown and the broader Connecticut community by providing services that foster the bond between humans and animals. We also pull many dogs from high kill shelters in Georgia. We are a foster only organization so in order to visit any dog, an appointment must be made.

Our Adoption Process...

The Animal Center runs its rescue programs entirely through a volunteer foster network. We do not have a shelter. This means we don't have a central location where all our adoptable animals are kept, nor do we have viewing "hours" because our adoptable animals are in the safety and comfort of private homes, not in a shelter facility.

To adopt, please fill out our adoption form on the website for the animal you're interested in. When we receive your form, our volunteers will contact you to set up a day and time that works for you to meet the cat or dog you're interested in.

Adoption Includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchipping and deworming. Adoption fee varies dog to dog staring around $250 for an adult dog and $350 for a puppy.
