Gilly's Story...
Gilly is a very happy, playful, social and handsome guy that just loves life and has so much love to give! Gilly is quite the clown and has kept his foster family entertained! Not only has he stolen a head of cauliflower out of an open fridge, but he has also joined his foster Mom in the bathtub! Gilly loves to go on walks and car rides, especially to the dog park to romp around in the snow with his canine foster brother. He has been very sweet with the children he has met. Because he is very playful and affectionate, he might overwhelm very small or very young children that aren't accustomed to his affections, but he has come very far with his doggy manners. Gilly would love to find a home without a cat as he is not so fond of them. He is housebroken and is crated when his foster family is gone for more than a few hours. Gilly is estimated to be about 1 1/2 years and weighs about 45 lbs.

Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom & dad are!), we are guessing on breed and size when grown.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.

If you are interested in meeting this dog or pup please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday, April 6th at Fetch Delivers Warehouse at 2303 Kennedy St. NE from noon - 2 pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gilly, a Minneapolis Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
