My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tipper is such a sweet little girl who is looking for someone that she can trust - and a warm, inviting lap is essential. She needs someone who can continue to teach and prove to her that the world is not such a scary place, allowing her confidence to continue to grow. She is a lovely little dog that deserves a wonderful new family. She is still a puppy at 7 - 8 months old and currently weighs 11 lbs. We don't expect she will be much bigger than an additional couple lbs as an adult.

Here is what her foster mom had to say:

In the short time that I have been fostering Tipper, her confidence has grown immensely and I have no doubt that it will continue to flourish. Tipper is a well behaved and smart girl - she is completely house trained, she walks well on a leash, she does very well when left alone (although she would much rather the company). She is a very sweet, gentle, affectionate, dependent, smart and cuddly girl that would be an asset to any living environment. She will make the most loyal little companion whose tail is always wagging.

Tipper is social and friendly with people of all sexes and ages when comfortable with her surroundings. She has also been exposed to young children whom she did extremely well with. Tipper has not shown any signs of aggression, she has a very submissive personality. She warms up to new people extremely quickly and in no time can be curled up on their lap.

Tipper fits in with all kinds of animals - big or small. I have two very large Newfoundland’s that she is very comfortable with. She also really loves cats which she is very gentle and respectful of. Tipper would do very well in any home environment; with or without other animals. She thrives in the company of other dogs, as it is apparent that they make her feel more comfortable and she looks to them for reassurance and instruction. However, she would also do well in a home where she is the only pet, soaking in all of the attention. Tipper is ecstatic when I return and although she would rather have company, she does not exhibit any signs of separation anxiety.

Tipper is a healthy young female, with no current health concerns. The incision from her recent spay surgery is still visible but it is healing well. She also just recently had a bath and nail clipping, which she was extremely well behaved for. Tipper is very well behaved in the home but her manners when it comes to food need to be worked on. She is very small so this only becomes difficult when eating at her level (on the floor or a couch/bed) but she does not give you space and will try to take food if the opportunity presents itself. Tipper always comes when called and she has just recently learned how to sit. She is a very intelligent little girl; she is completely house trained and is very quick to go to the bathroom outdoors.

It is very apparent that Tipper does not like being crated as she will immediately cower in the back of her crate when placed inside. I have not been using a crate for Tipper while I am away from home or at night. However, I do not feel that her fear of crates is not a downfall because she does very well when left alone loose in my bedroom; she does not have accidents, chew anything other than her toys and waits patiently for you to return. As well, she is very happy sleeping either next to you or on top of you during the night.

Tipper is completely leash trained, she walks very well. And although I have not tested it, I strongly believe that she would be able to go for walks and hikes without a leash because she is always aware of her surroundings, very attentive to her handler and likes to be as close to her handler as possible. Tipper is currently extremely overwhelmed by all the noises on a busy street so I have been walking her in the park or on much quieter streets, allowing her to become used to all the different noises without being too overwhelmed as she will freeze in fear on busy streets.

Tipper would do well in any type of home situation so long as there is love and trust. She does well with kids of any age, dogs of any age, sex or gender and loves and is respectful of cats. She has a contagious personality and is the sweetest and most loyal companion that is always ready to cuddle.

If you would like to make this little doll part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
