Sophie's Story...
My name is Sophie; I am a Schnauzer mix. My foster mom couldn't get me to hold still to take pictures, so I am stuck in the door! I love to run and play in the yard. Tipper the dog loving cat lives in my foster home and I love to roll on the floor with him. He will even chase me in the living room. I am basically crate trained. I am not wild about walking on a leash. I know I have to learn, but would rather run free and play. I promise I will learn to walk properly on the leash and I will give you years of love and pleasure. Please give me a forever home.

Sophie is around 3 1/2 months old and about 15lbs. She is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $125.
Meet our dogs! They will be available for adoption at our weekend adoption venues!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Houston Schnauzer (Standard)/Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard)/Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard)/Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard)/Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard)/Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
