Elwood's Story...
Everybody loves Elwood and he loves everyone too! He's a 10 month old lab/rottie/shepherd mix that was surrendered to Friendship because his family didn't have enough time for him. Elwood lived with cats and kids and was fine with them. He gets a little protective when strangers knock at the door but loves all people he knows. Elwood has not been around other dogs much but that doesn't mean he doesn't like them. What this good boy does like are long walks, rides in the car, playing fetch, toys, and rawhide bones. His family described him as a social butterfly that loves to play in a fenced in yard. Elwood is still a puppy and will need some training and still likes to chew. He'll be a wonderful pet for some lucky family.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elwood, a Elyria Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler puppy from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
