Smidgen's Story...
Senior, Moderate Energy, No Small Children, Good With Other Small Dogs
Hello There, my name is Smidgen. I am a 14 year old, 12 pound female Lhasa Apso/Rat Terrier mix. How did an old gal like me end up in rescue you might ask? My mom lost her job and home so she could not care for me any longer. But don’t let my age fool you; I have some pep left in my step! I love short daily walks, car rides, and bone chewing. My dream adopters would take me on a couple of shorter walks a day, have a yard I can sniff around in, and take me for some outings now and then. I am a pretty quite gal, I do not bark much. I know it’s hard to think about adopting a senior because you worry that you will not have much time with me, but I promise to reward you with lots of tail wags and wiggles for giving me a great home for the time I have left. My adoption fee is $50 and includes recent blood work, my spay, a dental cleaning, micro chipping, and heart worm test. If you have room in your heart and home for a loveable senior like myself, please visit www.softplacetoland.org to fill out our online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smidgen, a Ft. Collins Lhasa Apso/Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso/Rat Terrier for sale in Ft. Collins, or seeking a Lhasa Apso/Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Ft. Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Lhasa Apso/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
