My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SImba is a handsome 2-3 year old fellow who was abandoned at a Dinwiddie barn then came up to the house to say hello! We got him vetted and discovered he is positive for feline AIDS, referred to as FIV. Read information below about feline AIDS -- healthy Simba should live a perfectly long life now that he doesn't have to constantly search for food and shelter! Simba is so thankful he's safe now; he's pretty lazy and LOVES food. He would be such a good companion for someone who wants a gentle, calm loving companion. He's a big, hefty boy who has those giant, fluffy "tomcat" cheeks, but that life is behind him. He needs a deep litter box because he does like kicking sand! Please consider giving this nice boy a loving home as an only cat.

Feline AIDS is not a death sentence. For an indoor family pet, there's no reason the cat wouldn't live a normal life unshortened by this disease. FIV can only be transmitted to other cats via bite; it cannot be transmitted to people or other animals. Simba requires no medications or special treatment, just a loving home with food, water, warm bed and the good life of a housecat!
