Simon's Story...
Hi guys! I’m Simon, also known as Samson in my foster home! (A16874702) I’m currently in a fan-tabulous foster home! My foster dad loves me to bits and he knows my future permanent owner will too! I’m a playful guy at just a year old! I’m a great apartment-sized dog at about 40 lbs! I am learning all kinds of fun things from my foster dad, like sit, touch, stay, how to take treats nicely, and paw! I am still learning how to walk well on the leash and how to not jump up on people. I’m super smart and learning fast! I love treats and toys! My favorite treats are freeze-dried liver and my best toy is my tug toy! I LOOOOOOOVE to play tug and I’m learning fetch like a champ! I’m pretty much an all-around awesome dog. Since I’m just a playful puppy, I would probably do best in a home with older kids, like over 12. I still sometimes try to play with my mouth and it’s something I’m working on. No one’s perfect right? I think cats are really really really REALLY fun, so I probably shouldn’t live with them. I don’t have any issues with other dogs, but I’m not super playful with other dogs so living with a really playful dog might not be the best option for me. I could live with another dog who also likes to just chill out. We might even learn to be best friends!

I’ve been in crate rest while I’ve been in foster care because I hurt my knee while I was living at ACCT. I have received top notch medical care from my foster dad and the veterinarians at ACCT! My knee is getting all healed up and my future home will get tons of information about how keep me from hurting it again. Mostly I just need to not get really fat and I need regular exercise, just like any pup! I kind of got fat while I was at ACCT before. I’m sort of a chowhound. I really like food. I’m pretty much an awesome dog and I need to find my new home soon! My foster dad is going through a tough time and he’s really afraid he won’t be able to keep me for much longer. I know my perfect forever home is out there, I just need to find it! Contact my pen pal from ACCT if you’d like more information at ashearin@vet.upenn.edu. I’m already really excited about meeting all my potential adopters! I know a handsome fella like me won’t stay on the market long!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Simon, a Philadelphia Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
