Gwenneth's Story...
meet...Gwenneth. Gwenneth came in with our pyr mix boys from an AL shelter this week. She is a big girl, probably 25lbs, maybe 4.5 months old. She is very sweet, a bit shy and not used to being around others much. She seems to have led a very isolated life so far. We are working with her. For those interested, please research the breed. Australian Shepards are not for everyone. They are super intelligent and busy bodies :) She is fostered with Barb in Oldsmar. email adoptfromfarr@yahoo.com if you're interested.

FARR places our rescue pups in personal foster homes throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pacso Counties. FARR – Florida Retriever Rescue is a 501c3 NonProfit group composed totally of volunteers working to save the lives of neglected and unwanted dogs. The adoption fee helps to cover the first 2 shots, Dewormer, and neuter or spay fees, as well as a rabies shot, if the dog is over 4months at time of adoption, and a heartworm test, if the dog is over 6months at time of adoption, as well as any transport or pull fees FARR may have paid to the shelter for our rescues. All funds taken in are used strictly for the care and health of our rescues. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gwenneth, a Largo Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Largo, or seeking a Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Largo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Largo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Largo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Largo paves the way for another one to be saved.
