Chunk's Story...
Here is our adorable chunky little monkey! Chunk is so sweet and so much fun to have around! He LOVE, LOVE LOVES to cuddle and will curl up right next to you for a nap. Chunk's mother had an accidental litter and the people wanted the puppies out asap. We took them when they were 5 weeks old. Now Chunk is 3 months old, neutered and ready for his forever home! The mama dog is a 12 lb chihuahua/dachshund mix, and dad is an 8 lb chihuahua. Chunk is currently about 5 lbs and probably be 12-14 lbs when he is full grown. Chunk is a really good puppy and he is going to be a great dog! He isn't one bit nervous or yappy like some chihuahuas. He is well socialized and is good with other dogs and with children. The family who adopts Chunk will be very lucky, as he will bring much love and joy to his household! His adoption fee is $250 and that includes neuter, microchip and series of DAPP puppy vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Chunk, please contact Delon.Washo@asu.edu or 602-295-4518.

AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue would like to remind everyone that puppies are a big commitment and require a lot of attention. Puppies often exhibit undesirable behaviors such as chewing and digging. Of course they also are a lot of fun and are very lovable too. When choosing a puppy please consider how much time you will be able to spend training and socializing your new puppy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chunk, a Phoenix Chihuahua/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
