Justine's Story...
Estimated Birth Date: 08/2005
Size: 78 pounds

Shhh: don’t tell the other dogs, but Justine is our dog trainer’s favorite! She was rescued from an overcrowded county shelter with an injury that resulted in the removal of one eye. Justine is a strong girl who needs the sturdiest of toys. A harness is also helpful when walking her. Justine is active and energetic, and the loss of her eye hasn’t slowed her down at all! She knows how to sit on cue, and is a very loving and sweet dog. On snowy days, she likes to stick her nose into the drifts and make muzzle prints. She would do well in a home with children over the age of eight — and that limitation is only because she would probably bowl right over anything smaller than an eight year old! She does well with other dogs, but they must be able to handle her rough and tumble style of play.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Justine, a Batavia Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Batavia, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Batavia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Batavia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Batavia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Batavia paves the way for another one to be saved.
