Tonka's Story...
My name is Tonka, and I am an absolutely adorable 1 year old Sheltie mix. Nothing makes me happier than playing fetch with a ball, or playing with one of the many toys my foster mom has bought me. I get so excited when my foster family comes home, my tail wags my whole body! I love meeting new people, and get along well with my four legged foster brothers and sisters! I love all sorts of treats, as well as getting my belly rubbed. I have learned how to use the doggy door in my foster home as well. I cannot wait to find a family to call my own! Tonka is up to date on all shots, heart worm negative, microchiped, de-wormed, and neutered. Tonka’s adoption fee is $250.00. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Cocker Spaniel for sale in Bridgeton, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Bridgeton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bridgeton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bridgeton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bridgeton paves the way for another one to be saved.
