Max's Story...

My name is Max. My foster daddy found me hanging around outside a restaurant and the owner said I had been hanging around there for about a week. Well, ya! Nice people were feeding me there & I figured that was a decent set-up for me. But my foster daddy decided I deserved even better than that and took me home. Well, try as my foster mommy might, she couldn’t find my old home and family and it didn’t look like they were looking for me.

My foster mommy really thinks at some point I had a home because she keeps telling me how absolutely WONDERUL I am and that I’m just a SUPERLICIOUS LOVEBUG! I’m super affectionate and the best place that I can ever imagine being is in your lap, being pet. I like to play with my foster mommy with toys and toss around a little toy mouse that I grab by the tail and give a small toss, but I really like interactive toys with my foster mom. And I’m actually one of those kitties that loves my tummy rubs! Every morning (and plenty of times during the day too!), I roll over on my back and beg for tummy rubs. They’re the best!

Anyway, I’m now looking for my forever – yes, that means, even if someone gets sick, or loses their job, or moves, or has a new child in their life or any other change in life circumstance – home. Definitely a forever home. You have to know that I’ll always have a loving home with you, because I absolutely deserve that. If you know you can provide that for me and want a loving, a bit of a talkative, affectionate lovebug like me & you have a lap that’s always available for a kitty to curl up on, I just may be the cat for you. And I DON’T want to go outside ever again – it’s scary out there & I’d rather stay nice & cool & dry & safe & comfy & cozy.

I’ve had a little exposure to some uptight (with kitties) doggies, and based on that, my foster mommy thinks I may end up doing fine around calm, kitty friendly dogs who are nice to me and don’t treat me like a toy (though I may treat their wagging tails like one!). I haven’t had any exposure to any other kitties at my foster mom’s, so, right now, my foster mommy doesn’t know how I’d do with other kitties, though she’s guessing (yes, that’s only a guess) I’d probably do fine. I am very gentle with my foster mom and am a super affectionate little lovebug.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Phoenix Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
