I am already spayed, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and declawed.
7 Year Old Female Ruddy Somali Declaw
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the placement of this cat. We take no responsibility for the cat's health and medical records. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.
Shana just had her 7th birthday on February 25th and is a healthy and happy girl. This beautiful purebred Somali girl is so affectionate and needs someone who will give her lots of love and attention. She needs to be placed as an only cat and does not like other cats. She is fine with cat friendly dogs, once she feels safe. Shana is active, playful and interactive like her parent breed, the Abyssinian. Shana is an indoor girl. Being a declaw, she would not be able to protect herself from others that would harm her. Shana cannot eat dry or canned cat food. Her current owner has her on a raw diet and will provide the recipe she makes for her when she is adopted. Shana loves steamed asparagus, broccoli and green beans and will steal them right off your plate if you aren't watching.
So what can you expect from a Somali like Shana? Somalis seem to wake up every morning with a "to-do" list and helping and being with you will certainly top that list. They should be given plenty of room to run, lots of individual attention and play, and a variety of toys. Shana does like the toys on the string but you won't have them long, so be prepared to buy several. Somalis are even-tempered and easy to handle. They are people-oriented. They are also extremely inquisitive and clever. Fortunately, they are also easy to train to use scratching posts. Somalis are generally quiet cats, with soft voices they don't use a great deal. Somalis are adept communicators, but don't rely on their voices to do so. They shed very little, less than many short-haired cats. They have two seasonal moults in spring and fall, but otherwise shed minimally throughout the year.
Shana's owner is looking for the right home for Shana, one where the new owner is willing to feed her the way she is eating now and willing to make her a priority in their life. For more information on Shana, contact Karen at 707-301-6425 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that Shana is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with her owner in Jenner-By-The-Sea, CA while we place her.
