Sammie's Story...
Hi, I’m Sammie (A19249940) and I feel so lucky that you’re looking at me out of all of the other dogs at the shelter here! Do you think that maybe I could be your new best friend? Let me tell you a little more about myself.
I’m 6-12 months young, probably a Shepherd/pit/terrier mix. I’m a blonde boy. I’m about medium sized, and everyone says that I have the most striking green eyes! As you can see, I have “puppy paws,” so I probably have some more growing to do!
I’m a shy guy with people, but I absolutely love other dogs—that’s why I’m in paired housing! The staff here says that being around other dogs boosts my confidence with people. It’s a scary place, this shelter, with all of the noise and smells of other animals! Guess what I’m learning? Cuddling and sitting on command, which I think I've mastered. I'm such a fast learner and am really trying to work on many other commands like down, stay and touch. Wanna help me do homework?
I have two volunteers who are dedicated to helping me come out of my shell and promoting me. They are called my pen pals and I would love it if you would reach out to them about me! I am available for adoption or fostering. Fostering is where you keep me in your home while you find a home for me. Please email my pen pals at mandy.aly.b@gmail.com and adncat@verizon.net. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammie, a Philadelphia Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
