Pat's Story...
I was cruising along the back streets of Geneseo minding my own business. Soon I realized I was lost. I ended up in the Geneseo Pound. No one claimed me so I went the shelter. They named me Pat and took me to Miller Vet for a check-up. The nice vet said I was about 5 years old and already spay. The volunteers noticed that I was front paw declawed and wondered why I was wandering the streets with no claws to defend myself. They said when I get adopted that I will always be safe and inside. est DOB 3-8-08 POSTED MARCH 11, 2013.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pat, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
