My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. My name is Casey and I am a Jack Russell terrier mix. I am about a year old and I weigh 24 pounds… perfect size, right? Everybody says how cute I am with my short white coat and my freckles and brown ears. I had a family once but I don’t know where they are. I got lost and ended up at the scary pound. I waited, but nobody came for me. Thank goodness I was rescued.

I am told by my Foster Mom that I am very smart -- must be the Jack Russell Terrier in me. I am housetrained, I sit on command, and I am working on crate training. My Foster Mom is also training me not to jump up on people and I am quickly learning that keeping my "paws on the floor" is just good manners.

According to my Foster Mom, I am a pretty calm and quite fellow. She says I don't bark much even though I live with a number of noisy companions. I am moderately active but not hyper (I think from the way she says it that that must be a good thing for a Jack Russell) and my Foster Mom says I am very easy to care for - I just go with the flow. My Foster Mom thinks that given my personality I would like older children and would not have any problem fitting into a busy household but she also thinks I would do well in a quieter home with an active older person or persons who liked to walk and wanted a companion. I love to run with the other dogs I am living with ( my Foster Mom has dogs of all sizes although I am one of the smallest) and love laying with them after running and playing. My best friend here is a Lhasa that my Foster Mom rescued. I would not mind sharing a home and my people with a couple of small to medium sized dogs.

I love people and love attention and affection, and I love, love, love to snuggle. After a busy day, one of my favorite things in the world to do in the evening is sit in an available lap while everyone watches TV. My Foster Mom lets me sleep on her bed and I have to tell you, that it my idea of heaven. So if you are looking for an easy going, calm, quiet, loving companion who will do his best to please you, please adopt me.
