"Hello all of you wonderful people. My name is CHLOE,and I'm a very petite three-year-old Rat Terrier mix sweetheart who is in need of a new forever home. Just look at my happy face and you'll understand the joy that I can bring into your life! Being on the small side, I'd be the perfect size for an apartment or a house. I love to cuddle and snuggle on laps more than anything! I love people and I have a sensitive heart, so I'd to best in a home without children. You'll be happy to know that I've already been house trained, and I get along nicely with other dogs. I'm a loving, affectionate, and lively little gal. Just ask one of our very kind shelter staff to introduce you to the very beautiful and very sweet dog whose name is CHLOE, and we just might discover that we are meant to be together forever. You can bet that I'll be watching for you and also listening for the sound of your footsteps as you get closer to my kennel, and then I will know for sure that perhaps you have come to meet me, and maybe take me home with you "FUR"EVER. Won't you help me make my dreams come true for a new forever home with you? Hope to see you soon. Love, Chloe" P.S. If Chloe is not in her kennel (#55) when you get to the shelter, she might be in the office. The staff and volunteers love to spend time with her!

We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.
We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.
We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.
We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
