Beatrice "Lil Bea"'s Story...
Lil Bea is a sweet little beagle with a calm, friendly personality. She does very well with other dogs, cats and young children. She was taken in by Good Samaritans right before Christmas, when she wandered up pregnant. Lil Bea was surrendered to Ashe County Animal Control when her rescuers had found homes for all her puppies but could no longer keep her.

Lil Bea is currently in a Humane Society foster home. She is doing well with housetraining, sleeps in a crate and has very good manners!

The vet estimates that Lil Bea is about 3 years old. She is heartworm negative and has had all her vaccinations. She currently weighs 19 pounds. She mostly likes to sniff and nap, and especially likes her ears rubbed.

She would be a great little dog for a family with young children, as Lil Bea doesn’t jump or seem to get irritated with young children. She would also be a great pet for any other type of household. She’s patient and loving.

A vet reference and/or home visit is required for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Beatrice "Lil Bea", a Jefferson Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Jefferson, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Jefferson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jefferson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jefferson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jefferson paves the way for another one to be saved.
