Portia's Story...
**UPDATE**
*Portia's true personality is starting to shine! She now greets visitors at the front of her kennel with a wiggling back side and a smile on her face!*

Portia has found her way into the shelter life after being picked up as a stray. She is very unsure of things right now and is very timid. She takes her time warming up to the new people around her. Portia will need a home where she can learn to trust again and that she is safe and secure. A place where she will know love and affection. If you can find it within your heart to give this little girl the TLC she deserves and have the patience to see her true personality behind the wall of fear she has built, please take a moment to stop by and meet Portia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Portia, a Muskegon Dachshund/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Beagle for sale in Muskegon, or seeking a Dachshund/Beagle dog from a breeder in Muskegon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muskegon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muskegon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Beagle breeders who help with Dachshund/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muskegon paves the way for another one to be saved.
